GoodTime Chrome Extension - Request Availability

Last updated: February 26, 2026

TL;DR: Boost scheduling efficiency and start the GoodTime Request Availability scheduling workflow right inside your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) via the GoodTime Chrome Extension. With a simplified view of the GoodTime platform available in our Chrome Extension, your team can send Request Availability invites via email or SMS straight from the candidate’s profile—reducing clicks, cutting down on context switching, and streamlining the entire scheduling workflow.

🎥 Here's an overview of the Request Availability process via the GoodTime Chrome Extension.

Overview:

Here’s an overview of the key functionality you will find in the GoodTime Chrome extension to support your ability to start the GoodTime Request Availability scheduling workflow right inside your Applicant Tracking System (ATS):

1. All your scheduling data in one interface:

  • Review candidate details (name, email, phone number) and current job application and stage within the Chrome Extension as you start the Request Availability workflow. You can also assign a priority level to this interview for easier tracking.

2. Request Availability without leaving your ATS:

  • Rather than just Queueing an interview, you can trigger the Request Availability workflow without leaving your ATS. Choose from existing scheduling templates or override with a different one as needed. Where a specific interview template is linked to a job within GoodTime, the linked interview template will load into the chrome extension to help expedite the Request Availability process.

3. Assign the right Feedback form:

  • Review and modify the specific feedback form you wish to assign to an interview before sending interview requests, ensuring the right evaluation criteria are included.

4. Preview when this interview can occur:

  • Access the Request Availability preview calendar to help predict when this interview can take place. Customize the Request Availability window to be shared (e.g., 1 week, 2 weeks, or just a few days perhaps). Get real-time visibility into candidate availability and scheduling options.

5. Flexibly assignment the recruiting team:

  • Automatically pull in recruiting team members based on your ATS job setup, or quickly reassign recruiting team roles to specific coordinators, recruiters, or hiring managers.

6. Enhanced Candidate Communication:

  • Preview and edit interview request emails before sending. Use existing templates or customize the subject line and body text. If using the GoodTime Autopilot+ feature you can also send out Request Availability invites via SMS for maximum candidate convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Will I need to re-download the plug-in to have access to this feature?
    • No, this feature will automatically appear when your GoodTime Chrome Extension next updates. This should occur automatically and no action will be needed on your part!
  • My Chrome extension did not update, can I update it manually?
    • Yes. If your GoodTime Chrome extension failed to update automatically, you can trigger the update manually via the 'Troubleshooting' steps outlined on this help article:  GoodTime Chrome Extension
  • Can I conduct limited testing / roll-out this update to my team a few users at a time?
    • Unfortunately no. As this update is built as a Google Chrome Extension we are bound by the Google Chrome Extension roll-out process and are only able to release it as a single update to our Chrome extension for all users at the same time. Please rest assured that this update is additive and does not remove your team's ability to continue to use the original 'Open in GoodTime' button or 'Queue' functionality that they are familiar with.
  • Why does the Request Availability process look different in the Chrome Extension?
    • The Request Availability workflow in the Chrome Extension is intentionally designed to be a 'light' version of the standard Request Availability process you will find within the GoodTime application.  This has been done for two primary reasons.
      1. The Request Availability process via the Chrome Extension has been designed to allow for a more streamlined workflow where you do not need to leave your ATS and the quantity of clicks needed to send out a Request Availability invite are minimized.
      2. The technical architecture of the Google Chrome Extension also limits our ability to include the full set of Request Availability features that are available within the GoodTime app.
    • If you wish to use a specific feature within the Request Availability workflow that is not represented in the Chrome Extension Request Availability flow you are always able to trigger the RA process within the GoodTime application.
    • Key features NOT included in the Chrome extension Request Availability flow are as follow:
      • Adjusting the default scheduling calendar is not supported (tech limitation).
      • Accessing Interview Template 'Advanced Settings' not supported (tech limitation).
      • Reviewing/Editing Candiate and Interviewer calendar invites not supported (tech limitation).
      • Specific Time feature not supported (tech limitation).
      • Adding internal scheduling notes - currently not supported, intended to be added later.
  • Which ATS's is this supported by?
    • Greenhouse
    • Workday
    • SmartRecruiters
    • iCIMS
    • Lever
