GoodTime Error Guidance

Last updated: September 8, 2026

TL;DR:

Wherever possible, GoodTime incorporates user messaging to help guide users when they schedule within the GoodTime platform. This feature is known as ‘GoodTime Error Guidance, and it aims to help GoodTime users, be they new or old, avoid situations where your GoodTime settings may inadvertently limit your scheduling results.

Who is this feature for, and why use it?

GoodTime Error Guidance is active in all GoodTime user accounts, and in most cases it will be invisible to you as the end user. When the GoodTime system identifies a potential issue with the schedule you are proposing (typically when your template or interviewer settings might limit your search results), an error guidance message will appear within your scheduling workflow.

How do you set up and use this feature?

The GoodTime Error Guidance feature is always active within your GoodTime account. To use this feature, you simply need to review the content of any error guidance message and, if relevant, act on the suggestion it provides to improve your GoodTime search results.

You can expect to see error guidance in the following categories:

GoodTime provides calendar conflict annotations to help schedulers understand and identify conflicts involving interview events. The system highlights conflicts that occur after an interview is scheduled, interviews intentionally placed over existing calendar events, and situations where transparent keywords cause an interview to be scheduled over a busy event. These notifications provide greater visibility into how and why scheduling conflicts occur, helping teams manage interview schedules more effectively.

GoodTime provides scheduling guidance to help users identify interviewer settings that may limit interview availability. The system alerts schedulers when an interviewer has a heavily blocked calendar, has reached their workload limit, is assigned to multiple interview events, or has buffer settings that reduce available time slots. These notifications give schedulers better visibility into potential scheduling issues and help them make informed adjustments to ensure a smoother interview scheduling process.
