What does Holiday Calendar do?

It blocks interviews from being scheduled on an interviewer's holidays. You add a calendar for each country and assign it to the interviewers it applies to. Then GoodTime won't book those interviewers on those holidays.

Who can set it up?

Only super admins can create, assign, or change holiday calendars. This keeps anyone from accidentally blocking time for large parts of your company.

Can we add our own company days off?

Yes. Super admins can add custom events, such as a company mental health day, then delete them later.

I turned a holiday off, but interviewers are still blocked that day. Why?

First, make sure the change was saved. Then check the list for a second holiday on the same date with a different name. Holidays with different names stay as separate lines, and each one needs to be turned off. If there is only one line and it is off, please contact support.

Why does a holiday block different hours for different interviewers?

Each holiday blocks midnight to midnight in each interviewer's own time zone. Christmas Day in New Zealand starts many hours before Christmas Day in London.

Can we rename a holiday?

Holidays from the standard country calendars can't be renamed. Instead, turn that holiday off and add a custom event with the name you want. Custom event names also can't be edited yet; delete the custom event then add it again.

Can we see who changed a holiday calendar?

Not yet. GoodTime records every change, and a history view is planned.

How do we turn it on?

A super admin can navigate to Settings > Early Access then toggle on GoodTime Holiday Calendars. It'll be available immediately, and the Holiday Calendars option will appear in the Settings sidebar.

Which plans, ATSes, and calendar systems does it work with?

All of them. Holiday Calendar is available on every GoodTime package and every ATS, and it works with both Google Calendar and Outlook.

Where do the standard holidays come from?

They come from Google Calendar's standard list of public holidays for each country. Adding a country pulls in this year's and next year's holidays. Feel free to turn off any holiday your team doesn't observe.

Does it sync with our Google or Outlook calendars?

No. Holiday Calendar manages days off inside GoodTime, so you don't have to update anyone's calendar. It doesn't read calendar events and can't be linked to an existing calendar.

Can a calendar apply to our whole company?

Yes. You can do this by creating a tag that includes everyone. You can also assign calendars to other tags or to individual people, in any combination.
