You will see time zones displayed in multiple locations across the GoodTime platform when you are scheduling (see section below). While time zones are displayed repeatedly within GoodTime, time zones are always defined/pulled using the following logic:
- Onsite Interviews
> Time zone is pulled from the onsite template. - Remote Interviews
> The candidate's time zone is used.
Where does GoodTime pull time zones from?
Onsite Interviews:
- For all 'Onsite' interviews the Time Zone that is set within the Onsite Interview Template will be used.
Remote Interviews:
- For 'Remote' interviews we will use the candidate's time zone as the primary scheduling time zone. The Candidate's time zone will be identified using one of the following sources:
- Candidate's Browser: If you are using GoodTime's 'Request Availability' workflow we will identify where the candidate is located using the time zone of their browser. This automated process assists in removing errors in manually collecting a candidate's time zone. NOTE: The candidate can edit their time zone during the Request Availability workflow should they wish a different time zone to be used.
- Candidate Profile & Schedule Now flow: If a candidate's time zone is listed on the candidate's profile within your Applicant Tracking System (ATS), this time will be used when you use the Schedule Now workflow. If no time zone is present on the candidate's ATS profile the scheduler will be prompted to provide a time zone as part of the Schedule Now workflow.
Interviewer time zones:
- Interviewer time zones will be captured based on GoodTime's sync with your company directory - either Outlook or Google. If your interviewer travels, we will capture their current time zone the next time they log in to their email or calendar.
- You are able to manually update interviewer time zones via the Team page under GoodTime settings if you wish to schedule an interviewer as if they were in a different time zone. NOTE: Interviewer time zones will be synchronized with your user directory every 24 hours.
Where are time zones displayed in GoodTime?
Schedule Now 'Set Availability' popup:
- You will see your candidate's time zone (as pulled from your Applicant Tracking System) within the Set Availability popup that you will experience as part of the Schedule Now workflow in GoodTime.
- If you are scheduling a candidate and they DO NOT have a time zone listed on their ATS profile you will be prompted at this popup to manually add one to continue scheduling.
"Schedule Now" Search Options Page
- The search options page will include four callouts to time zones: the Candidate Time Zone in two locations, the Display time, and the interviewer's time zone.
- In the screenshot below, the candidate time zone (as pulled from the candidate's ATS profile or as provided by the scheduler) will be displayed on the top left. The candidate time zone is also shown where you see the proposed interview times.
- The display time defaults to the candidate's time zone but can be changed to present the search results/proposed interview times in a different time zone.
- Within the search results/proposed interview times, you will also see a callout to the listed interviewer's local time zone if different to that of the candidate time zone.
GoodTime Confirmation Page
- The candidate's time zone will be the default time zone displayed in the GoodTime confirmation page. You will see the candidate time zone reflected in the Candiate Calendar Event, and the interview schedule.
- The email preview will also showcase that the candiate time zone will be used in all correspondence with the candidate so they are receiving their interview confirmation in their own time zone.
